This one is for the boys/ men. Oliberte, a Canadian premium footwear company – that I’ve become obsessed with – manufactures all of its products in Africa, Ethiopia, Liberia and Kenya to be exact with plans to expand to other African countries. With my background in development economics, I can’t even begin to describe how wonderful and exciting it is for a foreign company to become involved in manufacturing and production of a good in a third world country. Without going into too much detail, the most important fact is that Oliberte is socially conscious in creating long term economic improvements on lives in a third world country. It also helps that the shoes are handsome, creative, unique and urban.

To purchase a pair or to, visit their web-site. The photos featured here are from the 2011 fall/winter collection not available in stores, but I’m certain you’ll be able to pre-order.
