Every lady needs a well-tailored lovely jacket, blazer and a coat. Luckily, I found a one-stop designer for that! Smythe Les Vestes is a Canadian label (made in Canada and Toronto-based) that lives and breathes flawless essentials, that if worn with care, will be passed onto your kids. Their creations are classics following current twists and turns.
Being sucked into becoming a fan of the Duchess of Cambridge (I saw her!) and the endless conversations about what she wore, I bought the Maclean’s feature on the Royal Canadian Visit in which Kate’s fashion was described in detail. It’s in this magazine that I first heard of Smythe and fell in love! Apparently, the Smythe jacket that Kate had on, sold out within the first 30 minutes of her wearing it!
The fashionable masterminds behind the label, Christie and Andrea, retail their pieces is all the major high-end clothing stores and the prices are appropriate. Although I adore most of the FW 2010 and SS 2011 collections, certain aspects of both are too main stream in terms of following the general trends of lace, floral print, and stripes a bit too closely. However, no one can mess with the tailored details of Smythe’s jackets, blazers and coats.
